Last Sunday was last day of school holiday and my church had organized a “Kids Fun Land” for the children around 3-10 years old.

It was fun to see them having fun before they going back to school, as usual our programs included some bible story, dancing and games. And we did a mini Olympic for kids too, just enjoyed seeing them having so much fun.

“Professor Blur-blur”?

Time to move your body with our Bee-man!

A little science experiments to amaze the kids.

Wife was giving Bible Story to the children. Plus our professional actor who were acting seriously on the stage to make all the children understand more about the story!

This was the moment for them - games. They love it so much.

However, I didn’t manage to photograph much. Still learn to steady my arm and hand while taking with my Prime 135mm. Some of the shots were not that great, shake and blur. :(

I had meeting with CSD’s group creative director, and found out they’d formed another company called “Primeworks studios” and their new logo looks interesting and I was curious about the approach of lines and forms.

This was something valiant or bold to attempt such a design especially for corporate.

If we talked about ‘TREND’… there were fashion trends, interior design trend or web design trend but how about logo?

Yes. There’s a trend for logo too. Even every year with dissimilar approach, such as this year we have 2008 trends for logo design.

Check it our some of the logos downloaded from LogoLonge.com.

Amoebe

Foldover

Strobe

This is trend of ‘Fibrous‘… similar to Primeworks logo.

Global is on the trend I like most.

I’d been to the Malaysia International Fireworks Competition in year 2007, and didn’t manage to take any photographs because I have not well prepared.

This time I know what to do and get myself serious. I bought the remote release from Shashinki and it cost me RM59.50; yet it took less than 2 days delivery.

It was China team’s performance on Saturday (16 Aug 2008). Personally we recognized China was the main distributor of fireworks and supply to most countries in the world. However, I assume they will perform to the extreme and gave the best setup for this year’s competition.

We have our dinner at my mother-in-law’s house (Sri Kembangan). From her house it took less than 15 minutes to reach Perdana Lake View, Cyberjaya. By the time we reached the lake side around 9pm, there were many cars on the road side. And this were only 60% of the crowd, believe there’ll be more crowd later.

Tripod was ready. Remote release was ready. Everything was ready but we just wasted our time waiting. :(

After an hour, finally first fire blazed into the dark sky. Once I took the first 5 shots (my aperture at F18 with 5-8 sec), quickly preview them and seem like all shots didn’t turn out right. Although manual mode and to experiment with shooting in low light at longer exposures. It’s not easy as I though.

On the other hand, I just keep changing the aperture and speed.. once it was F15…then F13; still not perfect, so decided to make it F10 with 2-3 sec. Yes, finally I got it.

Total time of Chinese’s performance was around 25-30 minutes. It was amazing. But another nightmare was the massive jam when heading back home.

Overall, I was happy about my remote release, it’s a MUST when you are taking fireworks photography. The only way of taking shots without touching your camera is to use remote release and to set your own timer. This can work but you really need to be able to anticipate shots well.

I found this site when I was searching for some tools to create CSS Advanced.

This CSStypeset give me full control of types in web, it is handy tool for seeing the effect of CSS code while simultaneously seeing what’s going on behind the scenes with the actual code.

It works both ways, you can type code and immediately see it applied to text, or you can type text and use a GUI with sliders to apply CSS to your text. If you have a hard time figuring out the difference between em and px, verdana and helvetica then this is the tool for you.

Melbourne in winter, yet the warmth of Love is in the air.

During the 10 days trip was not just about spending holiday and running around the city or places. But we spent a luxuries time with my relative.

I had a lovely stayed with my cousins who have been migrated to Australia more than 10-15 years. My cousin’s hospitality that made us had a good time and unforgettable moment.

We stood in front of Mei Earn’s house. It located very near to the main shopping complex and some other Asian shop lots. And it’s very near to the train station.

2nd day of the trip, I couldn’t wait and asked my uncle to bring us to visit my aunt who stay in nursery home near Donvale, I missed her since she is the eldest in my mother’s family. It’s emotion when I saw her and she got a shock and surprised while a visitor from Malaysia.

Far from right was my uncle, who took us around markets and Church, although he’s about 70+ but he walked faster than us. God bless him with a healthy physical.

This place was amazingly clean and quiet; definitely a good place for old folks. It has been fully occupied by Chinese where they were mostly from China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia.

My niece! (From left) Angela, Emilia, Anna and Sonia.

One more shot of this little cute angel - Emilia; she’s only 4 years old and very playful and active. Just couldn’t stop her…

We did manage to visit my friend - Irene who had migrated and stayed in Melbourne. And this was her newly house that they just moved since last December. Nice place with a small swimming pool behind.

These were my cousin sister (from Lim Family), the one beside me - Sister Ah Yee who use to work in my dad’s restaurant 20 years ago. Their children – Leny and Marcus; her husband - Ah Kok ko (‘ko’ means brother).

They have their own restaurant business in Melbourne, and most and suitable time to look for them was during late evening; they love bringing us to supper at The Pancake Parlour.

For 2 weeks holiday, I’d never missed any chances to go to their Church Service. This was Crossway Church that my uncle go for his Sunday service. In fact, I realized he was active and offering to God too.

There’s English and Chinese service, my uncle took us around to see their praise and worship team while they were preparing their rehearsal in the morning.

This was another hall for Chinese service.

Nevertheless, with their hospitality and generosity, they brought to this famous ‘dim-sum‘ place. They kept the Chinese culture ‘Yam Cha” during every weekend. Most of the Yam-cha restaurants were pack with people, therefore, my cousin has made the booking a day earlier.

When we reached the restaurant and I realized the ‘dim-sum’ was prepared by Hong Kong’s ‘Sifu’. This was the beef tendon. It was soft and taste excellent.

Definitely I won’t find these in Malaysia. Taste so difference and just couldn’t believe all these Chinese food found in Melbourne.

Overall, It was a wonderful and remarkable holiday for me and my wife … :)
